iDecide

New in iDecide 2.0

iDecide guides you step by step through writing your advance directive. Version 2.0 brings new features and a completely redesigned interface. It is based on a usability study, a survey and discussions in working groups on advance care planning.

Key new features

Multilingual

The app, its information texts and the communication guide are available in three national languages – German, French and Italian – as well as in English. A version in Rumantsch Grischun is in preparation.

Simpler interface

A completely new design with a clear structure, clearly visible progress and consistent navigation through all modules.

Scan your signed advance directive

An advance directive must be signed by hand. The app scans the signed document. This way, the valid version is always with you and can be shared with relatives and healthcare professionals.

Emergency QR code and web view

The QR code on the emergency card opens the key information on idecide.ch, without an app: decisions on medical procedures and the healthcare proxy's contact details. The data is not stored on a server.

Version for computers

The advance directive can also be created in a browser on a computer, for people who are less familiar with smartphones.

Accessibility

Adjustable text size

Text can be enlarged in the settings. The layout adapts.

Screen reader support

All buttons and elements are labelled, so your smartphone's screen reader (VoiceOver on iPhone, TalkBack on Android) can read the app aloud.

More new features

In-depth advance care planning

An optional additional module shows further options for advance care planning and how to involve healthcare professionals, with tips for talking to your doctor and information on palliative care.

Communication guide

Structured questions for the conversation with your healthcare proxy and relatives, as a module in the app or as a PDF.

Change detection

The app detects when details differ from the signed version and guides you through the update.

Medical plausibility

The app points out combinations that are hardly compatible in practice, such as resuscitation when intensive care is declined. It does not rule out any procedure. The decision remains yours.

Reminders (optional)

If you wish, the app reminds you every two years to review your advance directive, or more often as long as it has not yet been signed.

Scan other advance directives

Advance directives based on other templates can be scanned, saved and shared.
